The plot upon which the complex stands measures 634 by 334 yards. At the rectangle's center is a square garden area measuring 334 yards on either side, bounded on the north and south by two oblong sections. The southern oblong includes a sandstone entrance way to the complex as well as service buildings. The northern oblong ends at the river's edge and includes the actual [G 11 / mausoleum]. On either side of the
[M 008 / mausoleum] on the west and east are symmetrically identical buildings called the [P 010 / mosque] and its [G 09 / jawab] (answer or echo). A boundary wall with octagonal pavilion turrets at its corners surrounds the section in the north and the garden area. Outside the enclosure to the south are the guards' quarters and the stables.
